Analysing your Moodboard in NCS (Pro feature)

Check the colour distribution of your moodboard in the NCS system to validate your selection

You can analyze your moodboard from the viewpoint of the NCS space by using the NCS analysis feature. This allows you to see how the colour selection in your moodboard is spread out in the NCS colour space, i.e. the nuance triangle and the hue circle.

This enables you to quickly spot if colours share similarities in terms of their blackness, chromaticness, whiteness or hue components, which is often times a good indicator of whether the colours will harmonize.

This feature is a Web-exclusive feature, and is only available to users with an NCS+ Pro subscription.

On desktop

  1. Click on Boards
  2. Click on the moodboard you want to analyze
  3. Click on the Navigator icon in the right corner of the sub menu
  4. The Colour Space (nuance triangle and hue circle) is now presented to you, with every colour in the moodboard plotted in their respective position.

Hovering over any colour will highlight the blackness, chromaticness and hue of the currently hovered colour.

Pro tip: You can adjust your colour selection directly from the Colour Space by clicking on the colour you want to adjust and clicking on the colour swatch to the left in the contextual menu.
