Analyzing colour combinations
,By using the "Colour Space" tab while viewing a Moodboard in NCS+ on the Web, you can easily verify if your selected colour scheme shares certain colour similarities, and in turn whether or not they would be likely to harmonize.
On Desktop
- Navigate to Boards in the main menu
- Click on the moodboard you want to analyze
- CLick on the Colour Space tab in the sub-menu
By looking at the Nuance Triangle and the Hue Circle, you can quickly identify if your colour scheme shares certain properties.
In the above example, we can see that we have a few clusters of colour that would go well with each other.
- Certain clusters have the same level of Blackness indicated by the fact that they are on the same line extending out from the neutral scale in the Nuance Triangle.
- Certain clusters have the same level of Chromaticness, indicated by the fact that they are on the same vertical line between the neutral scale and the tip of the Nuance Triangle.
- Certain clusters share the same level of Whiteness indicated by the fact that they are on the same line perpendicular to the blackness lines in the Nuance Triangle.
- Certain clusters are within the same Hue family, indicated by the fact that they are on the same line in the Hue Circle.
Note: Colours share exactly the same Nuance are currently not visible at the same time in the Nuance Triangle but can be found if you hover over the colour in question in the Hue Circle.
