Using the NCS Navigator

The NCS Navigator enables you to intuitively explore all of the 2050 NCS colours, through their nuance and hue properties. Normally, you would start by identifying which hue you are looking for, for example "G50Y" (Green with 50% resemblance to Yellow). You can then find the nuance within the selected hue based on its blackness and chromaticness properties.

On mobile

  1. Click on Navigate in the main menu
  2. Scroll in the Hue wheel and position it so that the hue you are looking for is positioned at the top
  3. Move the pin in the triangle to the correct nuance
  4. Click on the colour in the top.

Tip: You can adjust the colour by clicking on the Nearby colours tab, which shows you the colour you are currently looking at in the center, and any nearby colours around it. By clicking on either of the surrounding colours, you adjust the colour to be more or less chromatic, more or less blackish and/or more or less whiteish.

On desktop

  1. Click on Navigate in the main menu
  2. Select the hue you are interested from the Hue wheel, or use the right or left arrows to move
  3. Click on the nuance you are interested in
  4. Click on the colour in the top of the left-side panel
  5. To enable the neutral scale, click on the button next to the right arrow.

Tip: You can use your keyboard's up, down, left and right arrows to navigate in the nuance triangle.
